Internal Deworming — When and With What

Intestinal parasites are often asymptomatic in healthy pets, but they can be transmitted to children and adults (zoonoses). The correct schedule is simple and inexpensive.

Puppies and kittens (up to 6 months)

2 weeks — first dose (based on weight)
Weekly until 8 weeks
Monthly until 6 months

Adults (over 1 year)

Quarterly (every 3 months) for pets that go outdoors
Twice a year for exclusively indoor pets

Which products we use

Combinations of fenbendazole, pyrantel, or praziquantel. We'll guide you at the consultation based on weight and exposure (parks, other animals, hunting).

What about external parasites?

External deworming (fleas, ticks) is a separate topic — we use spot-on pipettes or collars. A dedicated article is coming next month.
