Male neutering

Surgical neutering that reduces territorial behaviour and marking, and lowers the risk of prostate and testicular disease.

How the procedure works

  • Pre-op check-up and blood work to assess anaesthetic risk
  • General anaesthesia with continuous monitoring
  • Orchiectomy (removal of the testicles) — a short procedure, ~60 minutes
  • Same-day discharge with written aftercare instructions

Recovery

7–10 days of rest and a protective collar to stop licking of the wound. Testosterone-driven behaviours (marking, territorial aggression, roaming after females in heat) fade gradually over 4–6 weeks.
